Privacy & Your Data
myBuddy is built on a privacy-by-design principle. Here's exactly how your data is handled — and who controls it.
Is my data private?
Yes — and the level of privacy you get depends on the hardware tier you choose. On Phone-only, Jetson-only, and Phone+Jetson tiers, all AI processing happens entirely on your own device. No conversation audio, no video, no personal data leaves your home unless you explicitly opt into myDay Cloud. On Server-only (Cloud) tiers, processing happens in the myDay Cloud — this is stated clearly on the Pricing page and during setup. Cloud processing is always opt-in, never mandatory for device owners on private tiers.
Does myBuddy always send data to the cloud?
No. On private-compute tiers (Phone-only, Jetson-only, Phone+Jetson), myBuddy runs fully offline for core AI functions. myDay Cloud is an optional add-on that unlocks additional reasoning power, deeper memory, and richer conversation — but your robot works without it. The only exception is the Server-only (Cloud) tier, which requires a cloud subscription by design because it has no onboard AI chip. This is always disclosed upfront.
What happens without internet?
On Phone-only, Jetson-only, and Phone+Jetson tiers, myBuddy continues to work for all locally-processed functions: conversations, reminders, routine management, smart-home control, and safety monitoring — all without an internet connection. Features that depend on cloud services (such as calendar sync with Google/Outlook, web search, or myDay Cloud reasoning) will pause until connectivity is restored. On Server-only (Cloud) tiers, an internet connection is required for the robot to function.
Subscriptions & Pricing
myBuddy's core AI runs locally — no subscription required to get started. Here's what changes with a subscription.
Do I need a subscription?
No — not on most tiers. If you choose a Phone-only, Jetson-only, or Phone+Jetson hardware tier, your myBuddy runs its core AI entirely on-device from day one, with no subscription required. Subscriptions are optional upgrades that unlock additional cloud-powered features. The one exception is the Server-only (Cloud) tier: because it has no onboard AI chip, a myDay Cloud subscription (€19.99/mo) is required for the robot to function — this is clearly stated on the Pricing page.
What do I get without a subscription?
On private-compute tiers, you get the full local AI experience: natural-language conversation, contextual memory, routine learning, smart-home control, reminders, fall detection alerts, and safety monitoring — all running on your own hardware. Without a subscription, cloud-dependent features such as calendar sync with external services, web search, and the myDay Cloud's extended reasoning are not available. Everything core to daily life at home works offline.
What's the difference between myDay Premium and myDay Cloud?
myDay Premium (€9.99/mo) enhances your existing on-device AI: it adds richer conversation capabilities, expanded contextual memory, deeper calendar and messaging integrations, and priority access to new features — while your robot's AI still runs locally. myDay Cloud (€19.99/mo) shifts the primary AI processing to INFINY's cloud servers, unlocking maximum reasoning power and the most advanced conversation models. myDay Cloud is recommended on the Server-only tier (where it is required) and on the Phone+Server Hybrid tier. On private-compute tiers, it is entirely optional.
Product Differences & Upgrades
Choosing between myBuddy v1 and v2, or wondering about upgrade paths and optional modules? Here's the honest picture.
What's the difference between myBuddy v1 and v2?
myBuddy v1 is a circular mobile robot platform — roughly the form factor of a robot vacuum — with an adjustable smartphone mount. It moves through your home, listens, sees, and manages your daily life through conversation. It's the most affordable entry point, starting from €499. myBuddy v2 is a taller cylindrical robot with integrated cameras, microphones, and robotic arms with grippers. It is designed for physical assistance tasks — fetching objects, opening doors, and supporting people with limited mobility — in addition to everything v1 does. v2 also supports an optional detachable robot-vacuum base module.
Can I upgrade later?
Yes — the myBuddy platform is designed to be upgradeable. On v1, you can move from a Phone-only tier to a Phone+Jetson or Jetson-only tier by adding the onboard Jetson module. You can also add or remove a myDay Cloud subscription at any time. Upgrading from v1 to v2 hardware is a hardware replacement — we are designing the software and myDay platform continuity so that your routines, memory, and preferences carry over. We'll publish the full upgrade path before launch.
What does the optional vacuum module do?
myBuddy v2 supports an optional detachable robot-vacuum base module that attaches to the bottom of the cylindrical body. When attached, it adds autonomous floor-cleaning capability to v2's existing movement and care functions — so one robot handles both daily assistance and floor cleaning. The vacuum module is a hardware add-on for v2 only; it is not compatible with v1.
When will myBuddy v2 ship? Are the robotic arms available now?
myBuddy v2 — including the robotic arms and physical assistance capabilities — is currently in active R&D. The Vision-Language-Action (VLA) manipulation system that powers the arms is a research-stage feature; we are not implying it ships today. We will share development milestones transparently as we progress. If you want to be among the first to hear when v2 is ready, join the waitlist — we'll give early registrants priority access.
Safety & Medical Claims
These questions matter most. We answer them carefully and honestly.
Is myBuddy a medical device?
No. myBuddy is a home assistant and companion robot — it is not a medical device, and it does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any medical condition. Features such as medication reminders, fall-detection alerts, and activity monitoring are designed as helpful daily-life tools and safety notifications, not medical interventions. If you have specific medical needs, please consult a qualified healthcare professional. myBuddy is not a substitute for professional medical care.
Is it safe for children?
Yes — myBuddy is designed with child safety as a priority. It uses obstacle detection and avoidance to navigate around small obstacles and people, including children. The robot moves at safe, unhurried speeds and is designed to stop immediately if it senses an unexpected obstruction. Its conversational AI delivers age-appropriate, child-safe responses. As with any device in a home, we recommend that children use myBuddy with parental awareness and that parents review the privacy and monitoring settings in the myDay app.
Is it safe for pets?
myBuddy's obstacle detection and avoidance system is designed to detect and navigate around animals as well as people. The robot moves slowly and predictably to avoid startling or distressing pets. As with any new device introduced to a home with animals, we recommend a gradual introduction period. Specific pet-detection performance will be detailed in the full product documentation before launch.
What happens if myBuddy detects a fall?
If myBuddy's vision system detects a fall or an unusual, prolonged period of inactivity, it can trigger an alert to a designated family member or caregiver via the myDay app — immediately and automatically. myBuddy can also navigate to the person's location, observe, and either provide a reassuring check-in or escalate the alert. Fall detection is a safety notification feature: it is not a guaranteed medical alert system and should not be relied upon as the sole safety measure for people with serious fall risk. Always maintain appropriate professional care arrangements alongside myBuddy.
